TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 25, 2021) - The Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team suffered a tough loss in a Scenic West Athletic Conference road game Thursday.
The Bruins fell at the hands of the College of Southern Idaho, dropping 62-54 after leading at halftime. The loss drops SLCC to 8-3 overall and 3-3 in league play, with Salt Lake on a three-game losing streak.
SLCC jumped out to a 30-25 halftime lead, holding the Golden Eagles to 37 percent shooting. Southern Idaho turned on the jets in the second half, outscoring the Bruins by a margin of 16-8 in the third quarter to take the lead. Salt Lake shot just 27.3 percent from the field in the second half, making 2-of-16 three-point attempts.
Awa Sidibe led all scorers, posting 20 points and 7 rebounds.
Leilani Augmon scored 10 points, while
Naelle Bernard scored 8 points.
Salt Lake will play on the road again Saturday, facing off against in-state rival USU Eastern.Â
