TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 8, 2021) – The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team continued adding to its unbeaten streak to open the 2021-22 season Wednesday, earning an impressive Scenic West Athletic Conference road win.
Â
SLCC picked up a 96-75 win over the College of Southern Nevada, wrenching the league's top spot in the standings thanks to a dominant offensive performance. The victory lifts the Bruins to 11-0 overall and 2-0 in Scenic West play.
Â
It was Southern Nevada who led at halftime, posting a narrow 45-44 advantage in the half. Salt Lake caught fire in the second half offensively though, shooting 55.26 percent from the floor (21-of-38) and holding the Coyotes to just 9-of-29 from the field. SLCC's defense also forced CSN into 29 turnovers.Â

Salt Lake coach
Kyle Taylor said his team was able to power through significant adversity to earn the win.
Â
"We faced a lot of adversity tonight but found a way," he said. "The SWAC is really good and it's really hard to go on the road and win games. We missed a lot of layups and foul shots, which put us in a tough position, but we figured it out in the second half and made a nice push to separate late. The game was much closer than the final score."
Â
Doctor Bradley was just what Salt Lake ordered in the road win, posting 28 points to lead the Bruins.
Marion Humphrey posted 18 points on 7-of-11 from the field.
Jordan Brinson scored 14 points, while
Jackson Last finished in double figures with 10 points.Â
Â
"
Doctor Bradley was fantastic tonight," Taylor said. "He carried us through the first half.
Jordan Brinson and
Chase Adams created pressure and their steals got us rolling in the second half.
Jaquan Scott protected the rim well with some blocked shots.
Marion Humphrey and
Jordan Brinson started to drive the ball aggressively and made some nice plays."
Â
Salt Lake will travel home for a Scenic West game on Saturday with Community Christian College.
