TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 4, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team is continuing to build chemistry – an asset that is making waves as the games continue on.
SLCC finished the 'Bruin Classic' with a 63-48 win over Central Wyoming Saturday, going 2-0 in the tournament. Salt Lake is now 5-2, riding a four-game winning streak.
Salt Lake jumped out to an early lead, taking a 19-6 lead after the first quarter before Central Wyoming came charging back to give SLCC a narrow 28-24 halftime lead. SLCC's offense made the difference late in the game, with the Bruins going 10-of-17 from the field in the fourth quarter to outscore CWC, 22-12.
In a truly 'team' offensive performance, Salt Lake had 11 players score in the win.
Diarrah Sissoko finished with 10 points to lead the Bruins. Nexss Ngakosso,
Naelle Bernard and
Finau Tonga all finished with 8 points.
The Bruins will play their Scenic West Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday, traveling to play at the College of Southern Nevada.
