TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 3, 2021) – A long break can be a mixed experience for a team experiencing a strong season.
The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball posted a perfect 8-0 record entering Scenic West Athletic Conference play, with the Bruins opening their annual 'Bruin Classic' on Friday. SLCC showed a Thanksgiving break made no difference for the team's chemistry, with SLCC earning a 133-79 win over Northwest College to move to 9-0 overall.
Salt Lake dominated the game offensively, holding a 76-30 halftime lead. The Bruins shot 66.67 percent in the first half, going 32-of-48 on the field. SLCC's defense was equally as suffocating, with the Bruins forcing 25 Northwest College turnovers.
SLCC coach
Kyle Taylor said his team took early control and never surrendered.
"We controlled the tempo of the game tonight and played at the pace we wanted to play," he said. "Our athleticism was really on display, and that was the difference in the game. Everyone played well, I can't really single any one or two players out."
Tanner Cuff scored a game-high 23 points, going a perfect 10-of-10 from the field.
Doctor Bradley and
Marion Humphrey both scored 20 points.
Jordan Brinson posted 15 points and
