SLCC Women's Basketball dominant in win over Colorado Northwestern

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 16, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team added another strong performance to a growing winning streak Thursday, earning a Scenic West Athletic Conference home win.

SLCC picked up a 100-57 win over Colorado Northwestern, increasing its current winning streak to seven games. The victory also lifts Salt Lake to 8-2 overall, alongside an undefeated mark of 3-0 in Scenic West games.

Efficiency was the name of SLCC's game from the start, with the Bruins taking a 25-9 lead after the first quarter thanks to 10-of-16 shooting from the floor. Salt Lake also made 13-of-14 free-throws on the night. Conversely, SLCC's defense had an adverse effect on the Lady Spartans as CNCC shot just 32.1 percent in the game, making just 4-of-22 three-point attempts. Colorado Northwestern never led in the game.

Naelle Bernard led Salt Lake with 18 points, while Hennessey Luu-Brown and Brooke Donnelly both finished with 11 points each. Diarrah Sissoko and Allyzee Verdan post 10 points each.

Salt Lake will travel Saturday to play at in-state rival Snow College. The Bruins are scheduled to play in a non-conference tournament in Las Vegas next week.
