TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 16, 2021) – Coming off a record-setting performance, the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team did not let down Thursday.
Playing in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game, SLCC earned a 139-65 win over visiting Colorado Northwestern Community College, staying undefeated in SWAC contests. The Bruins are now 13-0 overall and 4-0 in Scenic West play with the win.
Salt Lake played how it has played lately, combining suffocating defense with offensive firepower. SLCC held a 56-23 halftime lead, thanks to holding CNCC to just 27.27 percent shooting (6-of-22). The Bruins then shot 77.5 percent in the second half (31-40), powering to a lead that was as large as 76 points. SLCC's defense forced 36 turnovers.
Quincy McGriff led the Bruins with 20 points, while
Jordan Brinson scored 19 points on a 7-of-7 performance from the field.
Max Watson and
Doctor Bradley both posted 15 points from the field, while
Jaxon Pollard scored 14 points. Every SLCC player scored a minimum of six points.
For statistical perspective, Salt Lake has now scored over 100 points in eight games this season. In the last five games, the Bruins are averaging 134.6 points.
Salt Lake will close out its pre-Holiday Break play on Saturday, traveling to face in-state rival Snow College.
