TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 12, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team opened a home tournament victoriously Friday.
SLCC earned a 61-51 win over Eastern Wyoming College, holding a narrow halftime lead and then powering to a big win. The Bruins are now 2-2 overall.
The Bruins started well, taking a 17-13 lead after the first quarter. SLCC's lead narrowed to 32-29 at halftime, but SLCC then powered to a 19-10 advantage in the third quarter to take a commanding lead they would never relinquish.
Salt Lake led by as many as 14 points midway through the fourth quarter, with SLCC forcing 19 Eastern Wyoming turnovers. The Bruins scored 22 points off turnovers in the win.
Diarrah Sissoko led the Bruins with 16 points, while
Hennessey Luu-Brown scored 12 points. Nexss Ngakosso had 9 points in the win.
Salt Lake will play Western Wyoming at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
