TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 8, 2020) – The No. 11 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team stayed undefeated in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, thanks to a strong home win on Saturday.

The Bruins downed Colorado Northwestern Community College by a score of 106-75, maintaining a multi-game lead in the Scenic West standings in the process. Salt Lake is now 23-4 overall and holds a mark of 9-0 in league play. With the win, Salt Lake also clinched at least a share of the Scenic West regular-season title, owning the tiebreaker over every program in case of a final tie.
Bruins coach
Kyle Taylor said claiming the Scenic West title was a seminal moment for his squad for this season.
"Today was a good day for our program," he said. "We won the SWAC championship, which is goal 2-of-6 for our team on the season. There is still a lot of work to do and we aren't finished yet, but today is a day to celebrate and enjoy this accomplishment. Monday, we get back to work."

SLCC controlled the game throughout, never trailing and leading by as many as 40 points. The Bruins led 57-33 at halftime, shooting 63.16 percent (24-of-38) in the first-half. SLCC's defense forced 18 CNCC turnovers.
Ed Chang led the team with 21 points, while
Spencer Johnson finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds.
Tutu Majok posted a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, with
Asa McCord posting 15 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
Adam Hess finished with 14 points.

Salt Lake will host the College of Southern Idaho next Saturday inside the Lifetime Activities Center. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
