TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 17, 2020) - The Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team continues to power through the Scenic West Athletic Conference, earning a critical road win on Thursday in Price.
Salt Lake picked up a 61-56 win over USU Eastern in Price, moving to 4-0 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. Salt Lake is now 15-4 with the victory and sits just outside of the NJCAA national rankings.
SLCC held an 18-12 lead after the first quarter but a strong run by the Eagles in the second period lifted them to a 31-23 halftime lead. The Bruins countered with a 23-14 run in the third quarter to take a 43-42 lead and held on for the late win. Tied at 56-56 late,
Leichan Williams broke a 56-56 tie with 1:27 left, using free throws to gain the final edge.Â
Awa Sidibe scored 26 points to lead all scorers, while
Leichan Williams had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Cameron Mooney finished with 6 points.
Salt Lake will have Saturday off before hosting Snow College on Thursday, Jan. 23, inside the Lifetime Activities Center.Â
