TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 23, 2020) -Â The Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team stayed unbeaten in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, downing a longtime in-state rival at home on Thursday.

SLCC earned an impressive 65-30 win over rival Snow College, moving to 5-0 in Scenic West play with the victory. The Bruins also moved to 16-4Â overall with the win.

After a 7-7 first quarter tie, the Bruins opened up for a 21-6 edge in the second quarter to take a 28-13 halftime lead. SLCC outscored Snow by a margin of 37-17 in the second half, holding the Badgers to just 23.3 percent shooting (7-of-30) in the period. Salt Lake's defense also forced 18 Snow turnovers in the game.
Ashley Scoggin had a breakout game for the Bruins, leading the team with 14 points.
Fatoumata Jallow and
Awa Sidibe led the team with 11 points apiece, with Sidibe also posting 8 rebounds. All 12 players who entered the game for Salt Lake scored points. Â
Salt Lake will travel to play Colorado Northwestern on Saturday in Rangely, Colo. The Bruins and Lady Spartans will tip at 1:00 p.m.
