TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 8, 2019) - A weird weather day on the Wasatch Front created unique outcomes for collegiate sports around northern Utah Friday.
With several baseball-and-softball series canceled because of snow and rain across several levels, the Salt Lake Community College baseball team found a way to at least play a game at West Jordan's Cate Field, earning an 11-7 win over the College of Southern Idaho to start a four-game series. The second game of the day was postponed to Saturday. Salt Lake's overall record was boosted to 12-4 and 5-0 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.Â

Colton Moore, to give SLCC a dominant lead. The Bruins increased their lead in the second inning with a solo home run by
Cole Gambill. Moore also hit another RBI triple to score two more runs.Â
The Golden Eagles wouldn't go quietly as a grand slam in the third inning cut the deficit to 10-4, eventually cutting the deficit to 10-5. The Bruins added a final run in the sixth inning with a Alex Bumpas fielder's choice RBI scoring
Tanner Argyle.Â
