TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 2, 2019) - The Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team fell in a home game against the College of Southern Idaho Saturday.
CSI picked up a 79-68 win over Salt Lake, a loss that dropped SLCC's record in the Scenic West Athletic Conference to 4-4 and 17-7 overall. Poor shooting and a tough offensive performance hurt the Bruins, with several extended Golden Eagles runs propelling CSI.
The game was back-and-forth for the start of the first half, with Salt Lake holding a 20-18 lead midway through the first half. However, Southern Idaho turned on the jets from there, going on a 19-6 run to take a 37-26 halftime lead.
Southern Idaho stretched the lead to 25 points early in the second half before the Bruins started a run of their own, getting to within 11 points with 7:34 remaining. However, the Golden Eagles cut the run quickly on a made basket, maintaining their advantage throughout.
Hunter Schofield led the Bruins with 14 points, while
Asa McCord had 11 points.
Matt Lindsey also contributed 10 points.Â
Salt Lake will host USU Eastern next Saturday at 5:00 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center.Â
