TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 12, 2019) – Victory has consistently belonged to the No. 4 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team in the 2019 season.
Â
SLCC earned a 1-0 win over in-state rival Snow College on Saturday at Zions Bank Stadium and also claimed a back-to-back Scenic West Athletic Conference title in the process. Salt Lake's win also gives the program an all-time best 11-0-1 overall record and a mark of 9-0-0 in the Scenic West.
Â
It was a back-and-forth match throughout as the two in-state rivals battled for supremacy in the match. However,
Daniel Mulholland came through in the 74th minute with the game-winning goal - an
Omar Gomez assist that gave the Bruins the only score they would need.
Salt Lake led the match in terms of offensive effort, holding a 13-6 edge on the Badgers. Bruins goalkeeper
Isaac Roy presided over the scoreless victory for SLCC. On top of the lone assist, Gomez also took 4 shots in the match. Snow goalkeeper Jason Myers made 5 saves to keep the Badgers close in spite of the consistent Salt Lake attack. Â
Salt Lake will close the 2019 regular season with a match next Saturday against Truckee Meadows Community College. The Bruins will be the top seed in the upcoming Region 18 championships.
