TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 18, 2019) - Victorious was how the No. 3 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team began the 2019 regular season and victorious is how the Bruins ended it.
Salt Lake earned a 1-0 victory over Truckee Meadows Community College to finish the Scenic West Athletic Conference matches with a perfect record of 10-0-0. The Bruins have an overall record of 12-0-1.
The match was a slow back-and-forth before SLCC finally scored in the 75th minute, scoring on an
Innocent Twishime goal off a
Samuel Owusu assist. The Bruins held a clear advantage statistically, holding a 27-2 edge in shots and a 10-1 margin in shots-on-goal.
Isaac Roy had a stellar performance defensively, shutting out TMCC with a save.
Salt Lake will wait to learn its opponent in the upcoming Region 18 championships, which will be hosted by the Bruins from November 1-2 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.
