TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 12, 2019) - The No. 9 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team was hopeful that a league home opener would bring good times to the Lifetime Activities Center.
Instead, the Bruins fell in heartbreaking fashion to in-state rival Snow College, falling 92-90 after surrendering a 60.7 percent shooting performance from three-point range. The loss drops Salt Lake's overall record to 15-4 and 2-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.Â
In a game that went back-and-forth, Snow held a 42-36 lead at halftime and was able to maintain the lead in spite of several Bruins runs in the second half. A tough shooting night hurt SLCC, with 10 missed free-throws and a 6-of-27 performance from three-point range.Â
St. John's commit
Cameron Mack finished with 27 points, while
Josh Colon had 25 points.
Hunter Schofield had 19 points for the Bruins, also contributing 9 rebounds.
Salt Lake will continue its three-game homestand next week, hosting in-state rival USU Eastern on Thursday.Â
