Sterling, CO--The No. 11-ranked SLCC Volleyball team (12-4) picked up a pair of wins on Saturday at the Pizza Hut Invitational hosted by Northeastern Junior College (NJC).

In the day's first contest, SLCC defeated Casper College in a 3-0 sweep by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-23 and the Bruins topped host school No 20 NJC 3-1 by scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-16 to close out the weekend's action. SLCC extended its win streak to seven matches with the pair of victories on Saturday.

SLCC vs. Casper: SLCC had eight service aces as a team, with freshman middle hitter Sequoia Lofton (Spokane, WA) turning in four aces in the match. Freshman outside hitter Carol Grasso (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had 13 kills and finished the match with a .434 attacking percentage and sophomore defensive specialist Indigo Allen (North Salt Lake, UT) had 14 digs.

SLCC vs. NJC: Bruin sophomore middle hitter Janessa Koelliker (Kaysville, UT) had 13 kills and hit for a .650 percentage and sophomore setter Baylie Henrie (Kaysville, UT) had 55 assists for the match.

Next up for Head Coach Sue Dulaney and the Bruins is a road trip to Rock Springs, WY for a non-conference match-up with No. 5 Western Wyoming Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m.
