Amy LePeilbet brings extensive experience in team development and
tactical leadership to the Salt Lake Community College Women’s
Soccer Program. Now in her third season as head coach and fifth overall
with the Bruins, LePeilbet is recognized for building strong team
cultures and maximizing individual player development.
In Fall 2024, LePeilbet led SLCC to a standout season, capturing both
the Scenic West Athletic Conference title and the Region 18
Tournament Championship. The Bruins made a deep postseason run,
defeating the nation’s top-ranked team and advancing to the NJCAA
Final Four. For their accomplishments, the SLCC coaching staff was
named United Soccer Coaches West Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
Two players—defender Brooke Gardner and goalkeeper Elle Rafajko—
earned NJCAA All-American honors.
During her first season as head coach in Fall 2023, LePeilbet guided
SLCC to continued success, again winning the SWAC title and Region
18 Tournament Championship and qualifying for the NJCAA National
Tournament. That year, forward Lexi Vernsey and goalkeeper Aliya
Garrett earned NJCAA All-American honors, and LePeilbet was
honored as SWAC Coach of the Year.
As associate head coach in Fall 2022, LePeilbet played a key role in
transforming the team’s playing style and enhancing individual
performance. She led video analysis, tactical planning, and player
development, helping SLCC reach the NJCAA National Championship
game and finish as national runner-up. Midfielder Jordan Roe and
goalkeeper Tess Wiesiolek earned NJCAA All-American honors for
their contributions.
Before joining SLCC, LePeilbet coached at the highest levels of the
women’s game. She served as interim head coach of the Utah Royals
(NWSL) in 2020, following roles as assistant coach and director of
professional development from 2018 to 2020. In 2019, she led the Utah
Royals Reserves to the WPSL National Final and was named Mountain
Conference Coach of the Year. She has also coached with U.S. Youth
National Teams at the U23, U20, and U18 levels.
LePeilbet enjoyed a distinguished professional playing career as a
defender for the U.S. Women’s National Team, earning 84 caps between
2004 and 2013. She helped the U.S. win gold at the 2012 London
Olympics and silver at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
She was drafted #4 overall by the Boston Breakers in the 2009 WPS
Draft and was named WPS Defender of the Year in both 2009 and 2010.
She concluded her professional career with FC Kansas City, winning
back-to-back NWSL Championships in 2014 and 2015, and was named
to the NWSL Best XI after playing every minute of her final season.
At the collegiate level, LePeilbet was a four-year starter at Arizona State
University, where she led the Sun Devils to three NCAA Tournament
appearances. She was a three-time First-Team All-Pac-10 selection and
a two-time All-American.
LePeilbet holds a USSF A Senior License and earned her Bachelor of
Science in Sociology from Arizona State University.
