Herriman, Utah- No. 16 Salt Lake Men's Soccer (3-0) won convincingly as they beat Northwest College 4-0.
Esteban Fernandez hit another free kick stunner and put the Bruins ahead 1-0 in the 34th minute. Just before halftime the Trappers Keeper miss hit the ball and Evan Beus immediately shot it past the out of position goalie for the Bruins second goal.
Mekhi Haughton-Parris found the back of the net in the 59th minute off an assist from Taylor Kogan.
In the 83rd minute Beus got fouled in the box. Taylor Kogan made the penalty kick for the fourth and final goal of the game. As a team Salt Lake had 14 shots and 7 on target.
In the month of August the Bruins had scrimmage victories over NCAA opponents Utah Tech, Colorado Mesa, and Westminster. To round out the month the Bruins defeated No. 13 Arizona Western, No. 18 Casper College, and most recently beat Northwest College. "I'm really happy with the boys and the tremendous fight and good team spirit we've shown. There's still a lot of things we can clean up," said head coach Mark Davis.
