Twin Falls, Idaho- No. 2 seed Salt Lake became the Region 18 Champions once again as they beat No. 1 seed Southern Idaho 12-4 in game two of the Region 18 Championship.
The Bru Cru had a ten run first inning and plated all ten runs with two outs. The first two batters of the game both got out. The next eleven Bruin batters reached base and sparked an improbable rally. RHP Austin Laycock benefited from the run support and gave up four runs in four innings of work. LHP Mason Green shutdown CSI with three scoreless innings pitched and three strikeouts.
Salt Lake had ten hits and LF Lute Chavez had four of them. Chavez went 4-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. C AJ Thomas hit a three-run home run and RF Willy Roberts hit a solo shot in the top of the fifth. DH Kade Gambill and 2B Gage Wareham both recorded two RBI.
