West Jordan, Utah- No. 2 seed Salt Lake won game two versus No. 3 seed USU-Eastern 9-4 to advance to the Region 18 Championship series.
USU-Eastern scored two runs in the top of the fifth to get the scoring started. The Bruins responded in the fifth with eight runs as they benefited from four errors in the inning that the Eagles committed. SS Drew Smith was 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. DH Kade Gambill and C AJ Thomas both went 2-4. 3B Riley Brown went 2-3.
RHP Austin Laycock earned the win and pitched six innings. Laycock struck out three batters, allowed three runs, and surrendered five hits.
