Salt Lake, UTAH- Salt Lake Men's Basketball (8-10) comeback fell short as they lost to No. 11 College of Southern Idaho (17-1) 86-78.
Salt Lake trailed 36-23 at the half and outscored CSI in high-scoring second half 55-50. The second half became a foul fest as 25 fouls were called and a combined 42 free throws were shot.
Lantz Stephenson led Salt Lake with 16 points and scored all of his points in the second half. Stephenson responded well after picking up three fouls in the first half. Makuei Riek scored 15 points before fouling out for SLCC. Danny Young Jr. added 13 points and Reggie Larsen and Daye Kaba both posted 10 points. Salt Lake struggled from the floor, but shot 21-23 at the free throw line.
CSI had six players in double-figures and went 20-24 on free throws in the second half as they closed out the game. Jalen Lyn had a game-high 18 points for CSI.
