WEST JORDAN, Utah- The No. 1 seed Salt Lake Bruins are the 2025 Region 18 Champions. SLCC defeated USU-Eastern 7-2 in game two of the championship series.
RHP Austin Taylor tossed eight innings for Salt Lake surrendered no walks and struck out four batters. The Eagles two runs were both unearned.
USU-Eastern led 2-1 midway through the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth the Bruins CF Luke Jacobs hit a lead-off solo home run and a couple of USU-Eastern errors allowed the Bruins to plate two more runs in the sixth.
Salt Lake added an insurance run in the seventh and scored two runs in the eighth off RBI singles from C Easton Romero and 2B Jake Mortensen.
Six Bruin players made the All-Tournament Team.
