Ephraim, UTAH- Salt Lake Men's Basketball (1-4) fell to No. 11 Indian Hills Community College (6-0) at day 1 of the Snow Classic 77-70.
The Bruins trailed 6-17 midway through the first half but fought their way back to lead 35-32 at the half. The game featured five ties and nine lead changes. Indian Hills took a 69-68 lead with 3:12 to go and held onto the lead from there.
Makuei Riek led Salt Lake with 16 points. Danny Young Jr. and Muhammed Jobe both added 14 points. Riek and Young Jr. combined to shoot 9-13 from three-point range. The Bruins shot 12-30 from deep as a team. Bruin guard Nick Jefferson also recorded double-figures with ten points.
Salt Lake shot 45.5% from the field, but the Bruins struggled from the line going 8-19 (42.1%).
Taj Au-Duke and KJ LaMonte both scored 16 points to lead Indian Hills. The Warriors went 23-28 at the line.
