WEST JORDAN, Utah (Saturday, August 24, 2024) — A trip to Florida became a necessary learning experience as the No. 4 Salt Lake Bruins volleyball team dropped three of five matches to open the season.
Following a straight-set loss to No. 2 Miami Dade to open the season, SLCC was swept by No. 1 Florida Southwestern State in the Battle of the Beach.
No. 19 Eastern Florida State got the best of the Bruins in Saturday's opening match. The Titans handed SLCC its third sweep of the trip. Salt Lake bounced back to upend Hillsborough Community College in a five-set thriller to end the tournament.
Sophomore Logan Lindsay earned a spot on the all-tournament team after averaging 1.64 kills/set.

Salt Lake returns to Taylorsville for the Crystal 'Inn'vitational on Friday, August 30, and Saturday, August 31. The Bruins face Eastern Wyoming at noon MT and Butler Community College at 4 p.m. on Friday. Saturday's matches feature the North Idaho Cardinals and Arizona Western College.
