WEST JORDAN, Utah (Saturday, April 13, 2024)— The ninth-ranked Bruins split the second day of baseball in Twin Falls, falling in game one before beating the Golden Eagles in the nightcap.
Salt Lake improved to 36-6 overall and 15-3 at home. SLCC is 20-4 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Game Three
SLCC 5 | CSI 6
The Golden Eagles scored four runs in the third inning against Shay Timmer to take a 4-1 lead. SLCC reclaimed the lead with a four-run fifth, but CSI tied things up at five in the bottom half of the frame.
Both offenses went quiet until Southern Idaho scored a walk-off run on a throwing error by Braden Nelson.
Luke Jacobs and Trey Gambill both finished with three hits. Easton Romero went 2-3 with three RBI.
Game Four
SLCC 13 | CSI 5
Salt Lake scored seven runs in the first four innings, taking a 7-4 lead after four. SLCC added six more in a big sixth inning to pull away for the 13-5 win.
Four Bruins had two hits in the game, led by 2-3 with two RBI and two runs scored for Gage Easton.
Salt Lake finished with nine walks as a team.
Kyle Keyes was credited with the win after throwing 31 innings of four-hit baseball. Keyes allowed two hits and struck out two.

The No. 9 Bruins (34-6, 20-4) return to Cate Field this weekend to host Utah State University Eastern (21-16, 11-9) in doubleheaders on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20. First pitch is Friday at noon MT. Salt Lake is second in the SWAC regular season standings, trailing Southern Idaho by a game in the loss column.
