WEST JORDAN, Utah (Friday, March 29, 2024)— No. 8 Salt Lake dominated Southern Nevada in the first two games of a four-game series, snapping the Coyotes' 19-game winning streak in a game one blowout.
The Bruins are 29-3 and have won 14 straight games.
Game One
SLCC 12 | CSN 2
The dazzling season of Garrison Sumner as the righty scattered seven hits and gave up two runs in a complete game. The two-time Scenic West Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week struck out five and walked one in a commanding performance.
Luke Jacobs collected three hits, driving in two and scoring a pair from the leadoff spot. Jake Olsen and Gage Easton each had two hits, while Easton knocked in three.
Garrett Bauer hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning.
Game Two
SLCC 8 | CSN 1
Shay Timmer and Zach Johnson combined for a seven-hitter and nine strikeouts, allowing the Bruins to sweep the Friday doubleheader. Timmer surrendered one unearned run and struck out five in 6.2 innings to get the win.
Jack Bluth went 3-4 out of the nine-hole in the order and hit one of three SLCC doubles.
Romero, Bauer, and Easton all had two hits.
