TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Wednesday, October 23, 2024)— Freshman outside hitter earned her second Scenic West Athletic Conference award, being named the SWAC Player of the Week after helping No. 11 Salt Lake improve to 16-8 and 5-2 in the conference after wins against Southern Idaho and North Idaho last week.
Montano tallied 19 kills while hitting .317 in Salt Lake's two wins. The former Weber Warrior also had four service aces as SLCC dropped just one set during the week.
"Havi's consistent play played a dominant role in our success offensively and defensively," Bruins head coach Shay Goulding Meurer said of Montano.
"She also played a supportive role in that her consistent efforts aided her teammates to have success this weekend."
