TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Saturday, January 27, 2024) – The Bruins responded to their first home loss by blowing out the visiting Colorado Northwestern Spartans 93-64 on Saturday afternoon.
No. 11 Salt Lake improved to 18-3 and 3-2 in SWAC play with the win.
Playing shorthanded without leading scorer CJ Luster, among three Bruin regulars to sit out, Mason Bendinger came off the bench to score a team-high 24 points and grab five rebounds.
Redshirt freshman Mikhail Abdul-Hamid made the most of his first start, hitting 6-of-10 shots for 15 points in 23 minutes.
Xavier Edmonds (14), Jordan Battle (13), and Preston Squire (12) each finished with double-figure points.
Zaon Collins finished with five steals to pace a Bruins team that forced 18 turnovers and 12 steals.
SLCC heads to Ephraim, Utah to take on the No. 13 Snow College Badgers on Thursday, February 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (MT).
