TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Saturday, January 20, 2024) – The No. 11 Bruins took out any frustration they had over falling six spots in the latest NJCAA Top 25 with a 45-point win over visiting Southern Nevada.
SLCC (17-2, 2-1) made its first six shots, never trailing in a 125-80 win over the Coyotes (2-14, 0-4).
Nobody played more than 24 minutes as Xavier Edmonds led six Bruins in double-figure scoring with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The 6'8 freshman forward made 9-of-12 shots.
Preston Squire hit 8-of-10 attempts, finishing with 19 points while CJ Luster was a perfect 5-of-5 from three to finish with 18 points in 14 minutes.
Jordan Battle added 17 while Bryce Zephir (15) and Mason Bendinger (13) led a Bruins bench that outscored CSN 48-20.
Salt Lake's defense held the Coyotes to under-38 percent shooting and forced 13 turnovers.
SLCC hosts Utah State Eastern (12-5, 2-2) at Bruin Arena on Wednesday, January 24. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (MT).
