TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 7, 2023) – The No. 4 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team earned a close win as it continued its Scenic West Athletic Conference road trip.
SLCC picked up a 2-1 win at Southern Nevada, never trailing in the contest. The victory lifts the Bruins to 5-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in Scenic West play.
After a defensive battle highlighted most of the first half, Joseph Picotto scored in the 43rd minute to lift the Bruins to a 1-0 advantage. CSN scored just moments later, sending the match to halftime tied at 1-1. Lewis Duncan scored in the 55th minute to give SLCC the lead for good.
The Bruins held a 24-10 advantage in total shots, posting a 10-3 margin in shots-on-goal. SLCC goalkeeper Ben Williams had a pair of saves in the win.
Salt Lake will return home next week for a match against Scenic West newcomer Pacific Northwestern.
