TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 23, 2023) -Â The No. 6 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team lost a match to an in-state opponent earlier this season, and were bound Saturday to not do the same again.
SLCC posted a comeback 2-1 win over USU Eastern, scoring a pair of goals in the second half to earn the victory. The Bruins are now 7-1 overall and 5-1 in Scenic West play.
Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Caitlyn Parry scored an unassisted goal in the 57th minute to tie the match at 1-1. Parry then posted another goal in the 77th minute off an Abbit Sanford assist.
Salt Lake held an 18-7 edge in total shots. SLCC goalkeeper Aliya Garrett made a pair of saves in the win.
SLCC will look to enact revenge against another in-state rival next week, hosting Snow College.
