TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 30, 2023) – The No. 6 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer program enacted a measure of revenge over an in-state rival Saturday, avenging an early season loss in a Scenic West Athletic Conference home game.
SLCC earned a dominant 2-0 win over rival Snow College, never trailing in a match that levels the season series at 1-1. The victory lifts the Bruins to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in Scenic West play.
After a scoreless first half, the Bruins got going in the second half as Caitlyn Perry scored off an Anna Pinegar assist in the 60th minute to give SLCC a 1-0 lead. Calista Wren then converted on a Mao Ito dish in the 85th minute.
Defense was at a premium in the Salt Lake win, with the Bruins limiting Snow to just seven total shots. Aliya Garrett also made four saves in the win.
Salt Lake will host Southern Nevada at home on Thursday, looking to go 2-0 over the Lady Coyotes this season.
