TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 4, 2023) – Strong offense and overpowering defense effort were hallmarks in an impressive road win for the Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team Saturday.
 
SLCC, playing at Colorado Northwestern, earned an 83-63 win over the Lady Spartans to earn the season sweep over CNCC. The win moves the Bruins to 19-6 overall, alongside a record of 9-5 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. 
 
It was CNCC who took an early lead, holding a 23-21 advantage after the first quarter. The Bruins caught fire from the field in the second quarter though, holding a 21-9 edge that ended in SLCC holding a 41-32 halftime lead. SLCC's defense in the game limited the Lady Spartans to just 36.5 percent shooting, also forcing 17 CNCC turnovers. 
 
Aminata Diakite led the Bruins with 20 points, while 
Jamia Carter scored 18 points. 
Allyzee Verdan finished with 15 points and 
Brooke Donnelly had 10 points. 
 
Salt Lake will travel to play Snow College on Thursday.
