No. 2 Bruins advance to Region 18 title match, down Truckee Meadows in semis

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 26, 2023) – A strong overall performance lifted the No. 2 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team into Saturday's Region 18 championship match.

SLCC earned a 2-0 win over Truckee Meadows Thursday, scoring early and playing strong defense to earn the win. The Bruins are now 15-0-2 overall.

Sawyer Heaton helped the Bruins to a lead in the 17th minute, scoring off a Francisco Tita assist. Joseph Picotto then converted a Carles Zameno pass in the 29th minute. SLCC goalkeeper Ben Williams had a pair of saves in the win.

Salt Lake will play in the Region 18 championship on Saturday.
