TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 18, 2023) – A critical road match ended in a strong victory for the No. 3 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team.
Playing at No. 9 Southern Idaho, the Bruins earned a 3-1 win over the Lady Golden Eagles that carried massive implications, finishing in a 25-15, 13-25, 25-12, 25-22 victory. The victory sets the Bruins at 20-5 overall and 8-0 in the Scenic West standings.
A strong service game strongly benefitted the Bruins, with SLCC hitting 14 aces in the win. The Bruins were also aggressive at the net, with Tessa Treanor finishing with 13 kills and Marija Tabak posting 11 kills. Treanor also contributed 6 aces in the win. Salt Lake hit .230 as a team.
With the win over Southern Idaho, the Bruins clinched a share of the Scenic West regular season title. If Salt Lake and Southern Idaho were to finish the season in a tie, the Bruins would earn the tiebreaker due to their season series victory. SLCC will clinch the overall title with either a victory or a USU Eastern loss.Â
