TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 27, 2023) – The No. 4 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team became the fifth and final SLCC program to claim a Scenic West Athletic Conference regular season title Friday.

SLCC earned a 3-0 win over in-state rival USU Eastern, winning by set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-23. The Bruins are now 21-5 overall and 9-0 in Scenic West play.

Salt Lake overcame an error-filled match in the win, posting 20 errors in the victory. The Bruins did own service though, posting seven aces. 

Marija Takak posted 11 kills and had a pair of aces, while Brenley Hansen had  6 aces. Brinlie Crosbie posted 27 digs. 

With the victory by SLCC Volleyball, each of Salt Lake's five Fall sports claimed the Scenic West Athletic Conference regular season title for their individual sport. SLCC also earned the right to host its third Region 18 championships of the fall, with the Bruins hosting the volleyball tournament next weekend. 

Salt Lake will close the regular season on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup with Colorado Northwestern.
