TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 9, 2023) – The No. 4 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team had an incredible run on the road last week, posting a 3-0 record.
 
SLCC moved to 6-1 in Scenic West play, downing Southern Nevada and Community Christian throughout the week. In response to the success of the Bruins, the Scenic West Athletic Conference awarded SLCC's Jared Garcia with the league's 'Player-of-the-Week' award. This is the second straight week a player from Salt Lake has won.
 
A sophomore from Texas, Garcia averaged 17.3 points throughout the week, also adding 7.6 rebounds a game. He scored 20 points and 9 rebounds in Friday's win over Community Christian, adding 19 points in the Southern Nevada win.
 
Salt Lake will play a pair of games this week, hosting Laramie County Community College in a non-conference game on Tuesday. The Bruins will also host USU Eastern on Saturday.
