Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 7, 2023) – The No. 4 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team finished off a clean sweep of three road games Saturday.
SLCC was perfect in a pair of games against Community Christian College in Southern California, earning a 135-65 win on Friday and a 118-67 victory Saturday. The victories lift the Bruins to 17-1 overall and 6-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Salt Lake will return home for Scenic West games next week, hosting USU Eastern on Saturday.
Salt Lake 135, Community Christian 65: The Bruins earned a resounding win over the Crusaders Friday.
SLCC shot 63.9 percent from the field in the game, with eight players scoring and seven players scoring in double figures.
Alejandro Vasquez led Salt Lake with 25 points.
Other high scorers included
Tyson Garff, who finished with 21 points, and
Jared Garcia's 20 points.
Jalen Weaver posted 19 points,
Andre Mulibea had 18 points and
Jaxon Pollard finished with 15 points.
Salt Lake 118, Community Christian 67: SLCC picked up where it left off in a strong win over CCC Saturday.
The Bruins limited CCC to just 41.4 percent shooting, forcing 19 turnovers in the process. Salt Lake shot fifty percent from three-point range alone, going 60.6 percent from the field.
Jalen Weaver had a team-high 24 points on 10-of-11 shooting, while
Andre Mulibea and
Tyson Garff both scored 10 points each.
Alejandro Vasquez posted 17 points, and
Jaxon Pollard scored 14 points.
