TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 3, 2022) – The No. 5 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team continued its momentum on Saturday, earning a doubleheader split to post a winning record in a preseason tournament.
 
SLCC went 1-1 in Saturday's action in the 'Crystal "Inn"vitational', finishing with a 3-0 win over Northwest College and a 3-0 loss to Northeastern College. The Bruins are now 9-2.
 
Salt Lake will host Missouri State University – West Plains in a non-conference match on Tuesday.
 
Salt Lake 3, Northwest 0: SLCC posted a 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 win over Northwest to open the day's action. 
 
The Bruins limited Northwest to a hitting percentage of just .021, forcing 24 Northwest errors. On the other hand, Salt Lake hit a crisp .295, posting 39 kills in the win. 
 
Charity Wilson led SLCC with 11 kills, while Laura Fiabane posted 34 assists. Kanon Miyaki had 12 digs in the win. 
 
Northeastern 3, Salt Lake 0: The Burins lost in a 24-26, 21-25, 20-25 decision. 
 
SLCC hit just .188 in the loss, finishing with 14 errors. Annie Michaelis posted 11 kills to lead Salt Lake.
