TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 25, 2022) – The start of a four-match swing through the 'Lone Star State' didn't go the way of the No. 11 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team Thursday.
 
SLCC dropped a 3-1 decision to host Odessa College to open a weekend tournament, losing in set scores of 16-25, 25-13, 19-25, 19-25. The Bruins are now 3-1 overall.
 
Salt Lake struggled to gain momentum throughout the contest, hitting just .131 in the match and finishing with 24 errors. Annie Michaelis led the Bruins with 12 kills, while Anastasia Tuifua posted 10 kills. Kanon Miyaki finished with a pair of aces in the loss. Laura Fiabane contributed 34 assists. 
 
Salt Lake will play a pair of matches on Friday, facing off against both No. 20 Hill College and Panola Community College.
