TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 3, 2022) – Another preseason tournament down, another impressive victory posted.
The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team has steadily accomplished the business it needed to in the opening of the 2022-23 season, posting impressive win after impressive win ahead of next week's Scenic West Athletic Conference opener. Saturday was another example of that, with SLCC notching a 99-69 win over Central Wyoming to move to 8-0 overall and win the 'Bruin Classic'.
SLCC dominated from the start, outscoring Central Wyoming 41-25 in the first half. The Bruins shot 58.8 percent from the field in the game, leading by as many as 40 points in the second half. Salt Lake was also the aggressor in the paint, holding a 54-30 edge down low.
Andre Mulibea scored 16 points to lead the Bruins, with
Alejandro Vasquez and
Jaquan Scott posting 14 points.
Jalen Weaver had 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
Hunter Erickson and
Jaxon Pollard also posted 10 points each.
Salt Lake will open Scenic West play on the road next week, traveling to play at No. 16 Snow College on Wednesday.
