TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 21, 2022) – After one of the busiest weeks in department history, the Salt Lake Community College Athletic Department will have a decidedly leisurely pace in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
 
SLCC will host a weekend tournament in Women's Basketball this week, hosting games against Odessa College on Friday and Eastern Wyoming on Saturday. Salt Lake Is up to No. 14 in the latest national polls.
 
Bruins coach Marcilina Grayer said her team has steadily improved since the start of the season, and will need it against strong non-conference programs.
 
"This week will be a tough match up against Odessa College and Eastern Wyoming due to their size and quickness," she said. "I am expecting to have two tough battles."
 
Besides the games, Grayer said her team is focused on thankfulness this week, particularly for each other's company.
 
"We are treating this holiday just as any holiday for the working person; we are going to enjoy the time with family and good food while also knowing we have business and work to get to the following day," she said.
