Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 17, 2022) – A battle of nationally ranked teams ended in an overtime road win for the No. 15 Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team.
SLCC opened a weekend tournament in Wyoming with a matchup against No. 10 Casper College, earning a narrow win over the tournament host, 96-92. The Bruins are now 2-0 overall.
In a game that went back-and-forth, it was SLCC who held a narrow 41-39 halftime lead. Both teams traded leads throughout the second half, with SLCC then outscoring Casper, 13-9, in overtime to post the victory.
The physicality of the Bruins made a difference in the win, with SLCC going 21-of-31 at the foul line and holding a 49-40 rebounding edge. Salt Lake also held a 25-15 edge in bench points.
Salt Lake will continue play throughout the weekend, facing off against Northeastern Junior College Friday and Western Nebraska Community College Saturday.
