TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 29, 2022) – The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday
SLCC fell in the Region 18 championship match at Zions Bank Stadium to in-state rival Snow College, losing 3-2. The Bruins are now 12-1-1 with the loss.
The Badgers took an early lead, prior to Zion Wagoner scoring a goal in the 57
th minute to tie the match. Jimiyu Mark then added another goal just a minute later to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately for SLCC, Snow scored two goals in the last 15 minutes of the match to earn the win.
It was Salt Lake who held a large advantage in total shots, finishing with a 21-6 margin and 14-4 edge in shots-on-goal. Bruins goalkeeper Ben Williams made a save in the loss.
Salt Lake will now await to see if it will earn an at-large bid in the upcoming NJCAA tournament. Snow College will host this week's NJCAA Western District championship match with the winner of Region 1.
