TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 22, 2021) - Victory continues to come for the No. 6 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team, with the Bruins earning a strong road win Wednesday to open Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
SLCC earned a 3-1 win over longtime regional rival Southern Idaho, downing the Golden Eagles by set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-20. With the win, Salt Lake is now 15-3 overall and is riding a 12-match winning streak.
After a slow start in the first set, the Bruins took control of the contest through service, posting a 15-5 advantage in aces in the win. Salt Lake's defense also limited CSI to a hitting percentage of .221, forcing the Golden Eagles into 17 errors.
Sandora Sasaki and
Anastasia Tuifua both finished with 12 kills, while
Laura Fiabane posted 37 assists in the win.
Hikialani Kaohelaulii led Salt Lake with 17 digs.
SLCC will continue Scenic West play next week, facing off against Colorado Northwestern in a road match next week.Â
