TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 8, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College baseball team is the Scenic West Athletic Conference champions, thanks to a win over No. 17 Southern Nevada.

SLCC earned a dominating 16-6 win over CSN, winning the Scenic West regular-season title and claiming the top seed in next week's Region 18 tournament. The Bruins will finish the regular-season with an overall record of 31-15 and 24-8 in Scenic West play.

Southern Nevada jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Bruins responded with a vengeance in the third inning, scoring eight runs to take a lead they would never relinquish. Key at-bats in the run included
Karson Bodily hitting a two-run double and
Braden Winget hitting an RBI double. SLCC also scored six more runs in the fourth inning to put the game out-of-reach, with Winget hitting another RBI double.

Sean Keating was a team-high 3-of-5 in the win, while Winget,
Eli Norman and
Jake Herman all went 3-of-4.
Dalton Hodge had a team-high four RBI's.
Spencer Jones earned the pitching win for Salt Lake, finishing with ten strikeouts.

Salt Lake will now await the announcement of the Region 18 tournament bracket, with Southern Nevada hosting the tournament.Â
