TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 18, 2021) - Home-field advantage treated the No. 2 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team just fine Tuesday, especially with the Bruins advancing in a postseason tournament thanks to a strong opening win.
SLCC earned a 4-0 win to open the postseason, downing Truckee Meadows Community College to head to the Region 18 championship match. The win boosts SLCC to 11-0-1, along with sending the Bruins to a 1:30 p.m. date with in-state rival Snow for the Region 18 tournament title.
In a match where Salt Lake dominated offensively, the Bruins got on the board in the 43rd minute on a
Santiago Delfino goal.
Levonte Johnson added the first of his two goals just moments later, with
Kai Phillip scoring the final goal in the 84th minute.Â
Salt Lake held a 13-3 advantage in total shots during the match.Â
