TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 9, 2021) – A healthy dose of offense lifted the Salt Lake Community College baseball team to a clean sweep of a Scenic West Athletic Conference road doubleheader on Friday.

The Bruins picked up wins of 7-4Â and 6-0Â over Colorado Northwestern Community College, moving SLCC to 3-0 in the series against the Spartans. Salt Lake is now 20-13 overall and 13-6 in Scenic West play.

SLCC and CNCC will conclude the four-game series in a series finale on Saturday.

Salt Lake 7, Colorado Northwestern 4: John Taylor's two-run double in the first inning set an early tone as the Bruins powered to the win.

Tied at 3-3 in the second inning,
Dalton Hodge hit a two-run double to help Salt Lake reclaim the lead. Taylor went 2-of-4 at the plate, while
Sean Keating went 3-of-4 and scored a pair of runs.Â

Jake Wilson earned the pitching win, striking out five batters in five innings.Â

Salt Lake 6, Colorado Northwestern 0: An elite pitching performance by
Breck Eichelberger lifted the Bruins to a win.

Eichelberger threw six innings, striking out 10 CNCC batters in the win.
Bruer Webster went 2-of-4 at the plate, hitting an RBI single to start the scoring.
Eli Norman later added a two-run home run in the sixth inning to cement the Bruin lead.
