No. 7 Bruins down Southern Nevada, prep for Saturday bout with nationally-ranked Snow

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 29, 2021) - The No. 7 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team earned a strong home win Thursday.

SLCC downed the College of Southern Nevada, 5-0, to maintain their spot in a tie at the top of the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings. Salt Lake is now 6-1 overall and 5-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference standings.

A slow start offensively turned into a figurative 'downpour' of goal-scoring, with the Bruins posting four goals in the second-half. Kallyn Chynoweth posted a goal in the 12 minute of the first-half, with SLCC going scoreless until Chynoweth scored again in the 59th minute. From there, Cassidy Adams and Cecilia Norman both added goals in short order, with Anna Pinegar closing out the scoring.

SLCC dominated the match offensively, posting a 38-1 advantage in shots and a 20-1 advantage in shots-on-goal. Chynoweth and Adams both posted five shots apiece in the match.

Salt Lake will play host to No. 6 Snow College on Saturday, with the match being played for in-state bragging rights and the Scenic West's top spot in the standings.
