No. 7 SLCC Women's Soccer downs No. 6 Snow in extra time

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 1, 2021) – The No. 7 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team got its biggest win of the season Saturday.

The Bruins took down No. 6 Snow College, 2-1, moving into first place outright in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings. SLCC is now 7-1 overall, with a 6-1 conference record.

Following a scoreless first half, freshman midfielder Kallyn Chynoweth put Salt Lake in the lead with a goal in the 49th minute. Quincy Richards assisted Chynoweth on the play. The Badgers notched things up just minutes later, keeping the score tied through regulation. In the 103rd minute, Ashlyn Hall found the back of the net to give the Bruins the victory.

The match marked the seventh game this season Chynoweth was a goal scorer for Salt Lake. The freshman out of Draper, Utah has scored in every game the Bruins have won.

SLCC will play the remainder of its season on the road, with No. 18 Utah State Eastern the next team on the schedule. That match is set to begin Thursday at 1:00.
